You find yourself in a world of sublime beauty and brutal suffering. Both the beauty and the brutality are enough to make you weep.
Deep beauty is all around you, if only you have eyes to see. It’s in every sunrise, every smile, and everything in between. Enjoy all the beauty you can. Feel it, taste it, breathe it in. The beauty you see outside you is a reflection of the beauty that exists deep within you.
Deep suffering is all around you, if only you have ears to hear. It’s in the cries of the poor and the tears of the earth. Alleviate all the suffering you can. Work to liberate people and the planet from all unnecessary suffering. The suffering you recognize without is a reflection of humanity’s collective suffering deep within.
If you can’t alleviate your own suffering, then accept it. Allow it to be what it is. You don’t have to accept it forever, just for now. When you truly accept suffering, you transcend it. You rise above it. You move beyond the limits of your mind and discover the mysterious peace that passes all understanding.
And you find that even within deep suffering, there is deep beauty and deep peace.
